The peaceful location is incredible, with a beautiful park and garden nearby. the nearby lake and village are lovely to explore. the preserved flair of the house gives it a charming Irish touch. the hosts are not only charming but also extremely interesting to chat with, sharing many insightful stories. the bed and breakfast are superb, with beds uncovered and prepared for bedtime - a lovely touch for a cozy and comfortable stay. This place is perfect for lovers of historic flair.
Felt just like being home, with no complaints at all.

From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty. The house itself had a cool vintage vibe, with modern touches like digital television to keep us entertained. We even got to enjoy some early morning coffee in the drawing room to recharge after our long journey. And let's not forget the blueberry muffins for breakfast - they were like heavenly bites of perfection! Plus, the location was awesome, with Mullingar Sailing Club and Mullingar Golf Club just a short drive away. So, if you're looking for a place to feel pampered, indulge in great food, and have some adventure with friends, Mornington House is the ultimate choice!
If I had to pick one small thing, it would be that as young party-goers, we wished there were more late-night activities nearby. Don't get me wrong, the tranquility and peacefulness of the countryside were amazing, but sometimes we just wanted to let loose and have a bit more fun.

I enjoyed exploring the nearby villages, especially the churches, castles, and abbeys. The home-cooked meals at Mornington House were delicious and the use of locally sourced produce made them even better. The free WiFi and onsite parking were convenient.
Just what I needed, another shared lounge. So exciting to sit and awkwardly make small talk with strangers.

Mornington House is an absolute gem! The room was cozy and comfortable, with a private bathroom complete with a luxurious bath and shower. The toiletries provided were a nice touch, and the hairdryer saved me from a bad hair day. It truly felt like a home away from home.
That the historic charm of the manor house meant that the room was a bit on the old-fashioned side. But hey, some people might actually love that!

The country house is full of character and interest, with spacious rooms and bathrooms. All guests dine together at an impressive dining table. The food is excellent, with much of the produce coming from the extensive gardens. The quiet location, lake, and village nearby add to the charm.

We got incredible value for our money at Mornington House. The room was so comfortable and the beautiful grounds added to the experience. The staff treated us like family and made us feel so welcome.
Breakfast delights could have been even better if there were more vegetarian options available.

Authentic house and gardens, home cooked 4-course meal, welcoming owners, made us feel like family, knowledgeable host, tea and cakes by the fire.
Nothing to be said.

The service was lacking, with slow response times and unhelpful staff. the price was quite high for the quality of service provided.

Charming step back in time
One of the highlights of my trip was staying at Mornington House. From the moment I stepped into this historic estate, I felt like I had been transported back in time. The beautiful house, filled with unique furniture and artwork, created an atmosphere straight out of a Jane Austen novel. I was mesmerized by the stories the hosts shared and the attention to detail in every corner of the property. The breakfast served in the magnificent dining room was absolutely fantastic. Despite a small hiccup with the flies in my room, the owner was quick to help and made sure I had a comfortable stay. I had a truly wonderful experience at Mornington House and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a unique and picturesque accommodation.
